Costs and included work
For underfloor heating costs, compare the scope first: floor suitability, heating design, pipework and connection. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.
| Work / price basis (from) | Starting indication | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Milled-in underfloor heating up to 10 m², one circuit | From € 1,350 | Market example including installation, manifold, pipe and VAT; suitable screed required. |
Market indications checked on 2 October 2026, not fixed Multi Concurrent tariffs. The stated work and unit apply; the quotation confirms the total, VAT and any additional work.
What affects your total?
Milled-in pipes, studded panels and electric mats use different floor build-ups. Removal of finishes, milling structural concrete, levelling, controls and the new floor finish are not automatically included.
What to send with your request
Send floor area by room, existing floor build-up, heat source and desired finish. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.
Compare equivalent systems
Water-based and electric systems have different uses and installation requirements. Discuss heat demand, controls and running-cost assumptions with the relevant installer.
Assess the existing floor
Insulation, moisture, thickness and substrate condition can influence the design. Removal, milling or an additional build-up may affect thresholds and doors.
Clarify the final scope
Ask whether distribution equipment, controls, connection, testing and commissioning are included. Coordinate the floor covering and its temperature requirements before accepting the quotation.

Frequently asked questions
What determines the total cost of underfloor heating?
Alongside area, the chosen system, existing floor, manifold, controls, connections and floor repairs affect cost. Also check whether removing the old finish and fitting the final floor covering are included.
Can underfloor heating be cut into any existing floor?
No. Floor build-up, thickness, condition and existing services need assessment first. Another system may be necessary. Have suitability checked before ordering installation and a new floor finish.
Does the new floor finish affect the system choice?
Yes. Match the heating system to the selected floor finish and both suppliers’ instructions. Discuss build-up height, drying or curing time and the commissioning procedure before setting the schedule.
