Costs and included work
For wall tiling costs, compare the scope first: substrate preparation, tile laying, grouting and edge junctions. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.
| Work / price basis (from) | Starting indication | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Tile-laying labour | From € 25 per m² | Labour indication; check tiles, adhesive, grout, waterproofing and VAT separately. |
Market indications checked on 2 October 2026, not fixed Multi Concurrent tariffs. The stated work and unit apply; the quotation confirms the total, VAT and any additional work.
What affects your total?
Tile size, pattern, cutting, levelling and waterproofing affect labour. Laying labour is not a complete tiled floor including tiles, adhesive, grout and skirtings.
What to send with your request
Send floor and wall areas, tile size, laying pattern and substrate photos. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.
Preparation and repairs
Old tiles, damaged plaster, uneven surfaces and service chases can add work. Agree whether removal, disposal and repairs are included before comparing a laying price.
Tile choice and detail
Small mosaics, large formats, patterns and niches involve different handling and cutting. Specify tile size, layout, joint width and edge trims. Product choice and labour should be identifiable in the quote.
Bathrooms and kitchens
Wet areas require the appropriate waterproofing and junctions. A kitchen splashback has different details around sockets, cabinets and worktops. Coordinate the tiling with the installer and fitting dimensions.
Compare the complete price
Use the current tiler cost guide for general starting-price context. Your quote should confirm substrate work, materials, laying, grout, sealant and VAT. A price for labour alone does not describe a finished room.
