Living room painting costs

Living-room painting costs depend on the surfaces, existing condition and finish. Wall area alone does not describe preparation, ceilings, joinery or protection of an occupied room.

Costs and included work

For living room painting costs, compare the scope first: substrate, preparation, coating system and number of coats. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.

What affects your total?

Rot or crack repairs, masking, access and colour changes affect preparation. A square-metre rate for a flat wall does not automatically apply to window frames, stairs or exterior work.

What to send with your request

Send surface area, photos of the substrate, interior or exterior location and desired finish. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.

List the surfaces

Specify walls, ceiling, doors, frames and skirting separately. Agree colours and finish levels, including whether dark colours or stained areas require additional preparation.

Prepare the room

Clarify furniture movement, floor protection and repair of cracks or loose coatings. Moisture-related stains need their cause assessed before decoration.

Compare the full price

Ask what preparation, materials and application are included. Confirm VAT and cleanup, and agree when the room can be used again under the product and site conditions.
