Measure walls and floors
Record each tiled surface, niches, corners and openings. The bathroom's floor footprint does not establish the full tile area or the amount of cutting required.
A complete wet-area system
Agree the preparation and waterproofing around corners, drains and penetrations. The fixing and finishing materials must suit the chosen system. Tiles alone do not define a waterproof bathroom.
Retain or remove existing tiles?
Have the existing covering and base assessed before deciding to tile over it. Added thickness can affect fittings, thresholds and floor levels. Removal may reveal repairs that need agreement before continuing.
Compare the quote
Separate demolition, disposal, base repairs, waterproofing, tiles, labour and finishing. Coordinate the scope with plumbing and installation work. The tiler and bathroom renovation guides provide starting-price context for clearly defined work.
