Requesting an electrician quote

An electrician's quotation should describe the intended installation and what has been assessed. Clear drawings or photographs help establish an initial scope.

Costs and included work

For requesting an electrician quote, compare the scope first: labour, required components, cable routes and checks after installation. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.

Work / price basis (from)Starting indicationScope
Electrician labourFrom € 40 per hourExcludes VAT and materials; not a total job price.

Market indications checked on 2 October 2026, not fixed Multi Concurrent tariffs. The stated work and unit apply; the quotation confirms the total, VAT and any additional work.

What affects your total?

An hourly rate does not cover a complete installation. Specify materials, travel, access, plaster repairs and any network-operator work separately.

What to send with your request

Send a distribution-board photo, number of connection points, intended appliances and cable routes. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.

Information to provide

List new or moved points, appliances and known issues. Include photographs of relevant rooms and the consumer unit without opening electrical enclosures yourself.

Clarify inspection and design

The electrician may need a site visit to assess capacity, wiring routes and existing condition. Ask which assumptions remain provisional until that inspection.

Compare complete offers

Check equipment, labour, testing and documentation. State who handles chasing, plaster repairs and decoration, and agree how unexpected defects or extra work are approved.
