Costs and included work
For window and door frame prices, compare the scope first: measurement, frames, glazing, fixings and surrounding finishes. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.
| Work / price basis | Starting indication | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Window and door frame prices | Price on request | Measurement, frames, glazing, fixings and surrounding finishes |
What affects your total?
Fixed panes, tilt-and-turn windows, doors and sliding doors differ in hardware and installation. Specify removal, disposal, glazing, ventilation, sills and interior and exterior making good.
What to send with your request
Send width and height of each opening, photos, preferred materials and opening direction. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.
What is included?
Separate the frame, glass, hardware, removal, fixing, sealing and finishing. Ask whether subframes, sills and repairs around the opening are included or treated as additional work.
Material and design choices
Timber, aluminium, uPVC and steel may suit different preferences and applications. Bespoke shapes, large panes and moving sections affect production and installation. Compare the actual proposed specification.
Prepare reliable measurements
Photos and approximate sizes help an initial discussion. Final ordering requires agreed measurements and assessment of the opening. Concealed defects can change the preparation needed.
Use the replacement guide
The replacement window and door cost page provides sourced starting-price context. Confirm the scope, VAT and any additional work in your project quote rather than applying one area price to every opening.
