What affects your total?
Fixed panes, tilt-and-turn windows, doors and sliding doors differ in hardware and installation. Specify removal, disposal, glazing, ventilation, sills and interior and exterior making good.
What to send with your request
Send width and height of each opening, photos, preferred materials and opening direction. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.
Choose the arrangement
Discuss colours, profiles, fixed panes and opening sections. Ventilation, hardware and the way rooms are used influence the specification. Use product information to assess the proposed assembly.
Check the existing opening
The condition of masonry, timber or existing subframes affects installation. Record repairs, new fixings and the required interior and exterior junctions before ordering.
Maintenance and use
Follow the supplier's cleaning and hardware-care instructions. Low-maintenance materials still need attention to drainage paths, moving parts and seals. Ask how adjustments or replacement components will be handled.
Compare complete quotes
Use the same dimensions, glass, hardware and finishing for each offer. Include removal and disposal of old frames, installation access and reinstatement. A frame-only supply price does not cover the whole replacement job.
