Costs and included work
For steel window and door frames, compare the scope first: measurement, frames, glazing, fixings and surrounding finishes. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.
| Work / price basis | Starting indication | Scope |

| Steel window and door frames | Price on request | Measurement, frames, glazing, fixings and surrounding finishes |
What affects your total?
Fixed panes, tilt-and-turn windows, doors and sliding doors differ in hardware and installation. Specify removal, disposal, glazing, ventilation, sills and interior and exterior making good.
What to send with your request
Send width and height of each opening, photos, preferred materials and opening direction. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.
Internal or external use?
An internal partition has different requirements from an exposed external window. Discuss thermal performance, weather resistance, opening sections and glass requirements for the actual application.
Performance needs evidence
Strength, insulation, security or fire resistance should be supported by the relevant product or system information. The use of steel alone does not establish a certified performance for the complete assembly.
Installation and junctions
Accurate measurements, suitable fixings and the connection with the existing opening affect the result. Include any structural alterations and surrounding repairs in the plan.
Costs and care
Bespoke dimensions, glazing, finish, hardware and installation influence the price. Ask for care instructions for the specified coating and fittings. Compare the total installed assembly with aluminium or other suitable alternatives.
