Repair or replace?
Have the frame, hardware, seals and surrounding junctions assessed. A local repair may be practical in one case, while more extensive deterioration may justify replacement. The decision should follow the condition of the whole assembly.
Define the repair
Specify the affected components, materials and expected finish. Ask whether glazing or moving parts must be removed and which temporary protection is needed.
Find the cause
Moisture, poor adjustment or damage at a junction can contribute to recurring problems. Agree whether the proposed work resolves that cause as well as the visible defect.
Costs and completion
Access, the extent of damage and any reinstatement influence the quote. Check operation, finish and the repaired junctions at handover. Keep information on replaced fittings or products for later maintenance.
