Costs and included work
For aluminium window and door frames, compare the scope first: measurement, frames, glazing, fixings and surrounding finishes. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.

What affects your total?
Fixed panes, tilt-and-turn windows, doors and sliding doors differ in hardware and installation. Specify removal, disposal, glazing, ventilation, sills and interior and exterior making good.
What to send with your request
Send width and height of each opening, photos, preferred materials and opening direction. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.
Specification before price
Discuss dimensions, opening sections, profile design, finish and glass. Ask for product information covering the performance required for the location. A material name does not describe the whole assembly.
Prepare the installation
Assess the existing opening and any retained subframe. Include fixings, sealing and the transition to internal and external finishes. Large elements may require additional handling or lifting arrangements.
Care and maintenance
Follow the supplier's cleaning instructions for the coating, seals and hardware. Avoid assuming coated metal requires no maintenance or that every protective treatment is suitable.
Compare complete offers
Use the same glazing, hardware, dimensions and finish in each comparison. Separate removal, disposal, installation and reinstatement from supply costs, and check operation and junctions at handover.
