Kitchen tiling costs

Kitchen tiling may cover a floor, splashback or several wall areas. Define those surfaces and coordinate them with the kitchen design before comparing costs.

Worktops, sockets and cabinets

The position of cabinets, appliance connections and sockets affects the tile layout and cuts. Use the final kitchen measurements and installation plan. Agree whether tiling takes place before or after particular fittings are installed.

Select suitable materials

Discuss cleaning, exposure, appearance and maintenance for the chosen tile. Natural stone and ceramic products may need different preparation and care. Follow the actual product instructions rather than a general treatment for every tile.

Prepare the substrate

Include old-tile removal, adhesive residues and repairs where required. Floor levels and transitions to neighbouring rooms should be agreed before installation.

Compare complete prices

Specify tiles, cutting allowance, substrate work, adhesive, laying, grout, trims and sealant. A small splashback and a complete kitchen floor are different scopes. Use the general tiler cost guide alongside a measured project quote.
