Costs and included work
For blocked drain clearance costs, compare the scope first: diagnosis, labour, parts and checking the pipework. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.
| Work / price basis (from) | Starting indication | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduled plumbing: labour | From € 45 per hour | Excludes VAT; specify parts, travel and making good separately. |
Market indications checked on 2 October 2026, not fixed Multi Concurrent tariffs. The stated work and unit apply; the quotation confirms the total, VAT and any additional work.
What affects your total?
Pipe diameter, location, access and cause determine the method; agree camera inspection and any repair separately. Locating a fault and repairing it are separate tasks. Travel, opening up surfaces, isolation and reconnection, and making good walls or floors are specified in the quotation.
What to send with your request
Send photos, connection locations, a description of the fault and access information. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.
Describe the symptoms
Explain which fixtures are affected, whether water backs up elsewhere and whether the problem recurs. This helps the drainage specialist plan an appropriate investigation.
Understand the proposed work
Ask what attendance and clearance include, and whether further investigation is charged separately. Camera inspection or repairs may be appropriate where the cause is unresolved.
Confirm the result
The contractor should check flow after treatment and explain any remaining issue. A temporarily clear drain does not automatically prove that damaged pipework or another underlying cause has been repaired.
