Costs and included work
For garden maintenance costs, compare the scope first: survey, groundworks, landscaping materials and waste removal. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.
| Work / price basis | Starting indication | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Garden maintenance costs | Price on request | Survey, groundworks, landscaping materials and waste removal |
What affects your total?
Access, ground conditions, level differences and existing planting can make a flat rate per square metre misleading. Discuss specialist landscaping with a gardener; it is not automatically part of a building contract.
What to send with your request
Send garden dimensions, changes in level, desired layout and access width. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.
Define the tasks
List mowing, pruning, weeding, hedge work and leaf collection as required. State what is excluded, particularly tree work, repairs and specialist treatment of plants.
Frequency and seasonal work
The schedule should reflect growth and the garden's use. A fixed visit interval may still need seasonal adjustments, so agree how additional tasks are approved.
Access and waste
Parking, equipment access and the amount of green waste affect the work. Check whether removal of waste is included or whether material remains on site for composting.
Coordinate with a building project
Discuss landscaping interfaces when a renovation changes paths, drainage or garden levels. Specialist garden maintenance should be assessed with a gardener; this information does not promise an in-house maintenance team.
