Costs and included work
For installing a wood-burning stove, compare the scope first: appliance, flue, air supply and connection to the building. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.
| Work / price basis | Starting indication | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Installing a wood-burning stove | Price on request | Appliance, flue, air supply and connection to the building |
What affects your total?
An appliance price is not the price of a fully installed fireplace. Have the existing flue, roof penetration, ventilation, fire-safe junctions and applicable installation requirements assessed.
What to send with your request
Send appliance type, photos of the existing flue and roof, and the intended location. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.
Assess feasibility
Have a specialist review the appliance, flue route, ventilation and surrounding construction. Check current local rules and relevant official guidance before committing to installation.
Coordinate the installation
The manufacturer's requirements and the building situation determine detailing and clearances. Existing chimneys need assessment; their presence does not prove suitability for a new stove.
Plan use and maintenance
Ask for operating, inspection and maintenance guidance. Consider the effect of smoke on occupants and neighbours, and do not assume a stove provides a guaranteed economical or low-emission heating solution.
