Costs and included work
For basement damp treatment costs, compare the scope first: cause investigation, suitable treatment, drying and finishes. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.

What affects your total?
Water pressure, joints, penetrations and intended use determine whether local repairs or a comprehensive sealing system are needed. Condensation, leaks, penetrating damp and rising damp need different solutions. Establish the diagnosis and survey findings before pricing injection, coatings or drainage.
What to send with your request
Send photos of damp patches, the timing and duration of the problem, ventilation and previous work. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.
Investigate the source
Assess walls, floor junctions, groundwater conditions, drainage and possible leaks. Condensation should be distinguished from water entering through the structure before a system is chosen.
Choose a compatible approach
Coatings, structural repairs and managed drainage systems address different conditions. Ask a specialist to explain the proposed solution and how junctions, penetrations and maintenance will be handled.
Include the surrounding work
Allow for removing finishes, repairs, access, disposal and reinstatement where needed. Systems with pumps or drains also require a clear arrangement for operation and maintenance.
Define the intended use
Tell the designer whether the basement will hold storage, installations or habitable rooms. Moisture control alone does not establish that a room meets every requirement for a new use.
