Costs and included work
For water in a crawl space, compare the scope first: cause investigation, suitable treatment, drying and finishes. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.
| Work / price basis | Starting indication | Scope |

| Water in a crawl space | Price on request | Cause investigation, suitable treatment, drying and finishes |
What affects your total?
Groundwater, ventilation, leaks and ground build-up must be investigated before choosing drainage, insulation or filling. Condensation, leaks, penetrating damp and rising damp need different solutions. Establish the diagnosis and survey findings before pricing injection, coatings or drainage.
What to send with your request
Send photos of damp patches, the timing and duration of the problem, ventilation and previous work. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.
Record the pattern
Note when water appears, its approximate extent and whether it follows rain or changes in groundwater. Photographs and previous repair records help an inspector distinguish recurring conditions from a recent incident.
Check the building context
Floor construction, ventilation, ground levels and nearby drainage can all be relevant. Access to a crawl space may be hazardous; leave inspection of unsafe or confined areas to an appropriate specialist.
Select a cause-based solution
Drainage, leak repair, moisture control or other measures address different problems. Pumping water out or adding ventilation does not automatically resolve the underlying cause.
Assess and quote separately
Ask what investigation is included, what the proposed treatment addresses and what monitoring is needed. Include effects on insulation, services and the underside of the floor where relevant.
