Costs and included work
For mould in the home, compare the scope first: cause investigation, suitable treatment, drying and finishes. A price is useful only when supply and finishing work are clearly defined.

What affects your total?
Removing mould and correcting the moisture source are separate tasks. Repainting alone does not solve the underlying cause. Condensation, leaks, penetrating damp and rising damp need different solutions. Establish the diagnosis and survey findings before pricing injection, coatings or drainage.
What to send with your request
Send photos of damp patches, the timing and duration of the problem, ventilation and previous work. Include your postcode, preferred schedule and the elements that must remain, so the scope can be assessed.
Look for the moisture pattern
Record affected surfaces, condensation, leaks and any relationship with weather or room use. Cold surfaces, inadequate ventilation and penetrating water can require different responses.
Investigate recurring growth
Where mould returns, spreads widely or affects concealed materials, arrange appropriate professional assessment. Damp plaster, timber and insulation may need attention beyond surface cleaning.
Coordinate repairs and ventilation
Address relevant leaks, building defects and ventilation issues as a combined plan. Do not cover damp surfaces with new finishes before the cause and substrate condition have been assessed.
Define the work clearly
Ask which areas are treated, how adjoining rooms and contents are protected and what drying or follow-up is included. For health concerns, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
